Aluminum foil Mylar bags are laminated packaging bags made with both PET and aluminum foil, Mylar mainly refers to PET film. The PET film commonly used in flexible packaging is typically BOPET, which is often shortened to PET within the flexible packaging industry. Therefore, in flexible packaging terminology, Mylar=PET=BOPET.

High-Quality Printing Options
When Mylar is used as the outer layer of the pouch, it provides a stiff, smooth, and flat printing surface. This allows the film to hold ink more consistently and helps reduce blurred graphic edges, distorted text, and uneven color blocks. Both matte and glossy finishes are available.
Gravure Printing
For orders above 10,000 pieces, we generally use gravure printing. The artwork is printed on the inner side of the PET film, which is then laminated with aluminum foil, PE, or other materials:
• The design is viewed through the transparent PET layer, producing clearer and more saturated colors.
• The ink is protected inside the laminated structure, making it less likely to rub off, scratch, or come into contact with the packaged product.
Digital Printing
For orders below 10,000 pieces, we use digital printing with no printing plate charges. It also allows multiple designs to be customized flexibly, significantly reducing the cost of small-volume orders.

What Are the Advantages of Aluminum Foil Mylar Bags Compared with Metallized Film Bags?
Stronger Barrier Performance
Aluminum foil Mylar bags use genuine aluminum foil as the barrier layer. Their resistance to oxygen, moisture vapor, and external odors is generally much stronger than that of metallized film bags. For example, Zijin’s common PET / AL / PE structure can achieve the following barrier performance:
WVTR: ≤0.5 g/(m²·24 h)
OTR: ≤0.8 cm³/(m²·24 h·0.1 MPa)
This makes aluminum foil Mylar bags more suitable for products requiring moisture protection, oxidation protection, and long-term storage.
Better Light Barrier
Aluminum foil Mylar bags can provide nearly 100% light blockage, while the aluminum coating on metallized film is much thinner and generally cannot provide complete light protection.
For products such as vitamins, oils, natural pigments, and nutritional powders that can be affected by light, foil Mylar pouches help reduce light-induced oxidation, discoloration, nutrient loss, and deterioration in product quality.
